It’s fair to say that I’ve never been the most athletic of people, but after suffering a serious achilles injury on my ankle back in early 2009 my fitness had suffered badly! Being unable to train for over a year, coupled with starting a new desk-based job meant that I really piled on the pounds and was worse than before I got injured.
I tried myself but realised I needed expert help
When the day finally came that I was given a clean bill of health, I knew that it was time to start knuckling down and working hard! The motivation behind the need to regain my fitness quickly was my job, which requires me to maintain a certain standard so its safe to say there was no time to waste. I’d tried for several weeks (unsuccessfully) to get fit using my own method which basically consisted of running as far as I could without collapsing but I wasn’t getting any real gains and time was ticking on, I figured that some external help was in order.
A quick search of the Yellow Pages returned Pete’s number and I gave him a call, Pete invited me round to his house for an initial discussion and to figure out my goals, he was really easy to get on with and immediately put me at ease, we then set a date for the first training session.

The day of our first training session arrived and I don’t mind admitting I was quite nervous not knowing what to expect, any qualms I had soon disappeared when I realised that this was going to be a session carefully tailored to balance what I was capable of with what I could potentially achieve. This is the theme that has run through all our sessions for the past 5 months and the results I have seen, based on Pete’s instruction, have been better than I ever could have imagined!

In the 5 months I have had Pete as a trainer I have
- reduced my waist size by over 10 inches
- halved my BMI
- lost over 20% in body fat
Not only has this helped me achieve the goals set by my job but has also, undoubtedly, benefitted my long term health which is something you can’t put a price on.
